The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course takes your training beyond the basics. You'll complete five adventure dives, each focused on a specific skill, such as navigation, deep diving, or buoyancy. It's a hands-on, in-water course designed to improve your confidence and capability underwater.

Options
Choose the Advanced Open Water path that suits your diving style and future goals:
Standard – Includes 5 adventure dives: Deep, Underwater Navigation, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Drift, and Wreck.
A solid upgrade from your Open Water certification, this package focuses on building skill and confidence across key dive specialties, this course can be completed over 2-3 days.
Conservation – Focus your training on buoyancy and ocean health adding Peak Performance Buoyancy and Dive Against Debris specialties. Includes one extra day of diving (6 dives in total), two additional specialty certifications and PADI Club membership for one year.
Skill Master – Take a giant step toward your pro path adding Enriched Air Nitrox and Deep Dive specialties, to dive up 40m/130ft. Earn additional certifications and dive the deepest and longer within recreational diving limits.
This bundle includes 8 dives scheduled over 4-5 days, and the PADI Club membership for one year.

Where You Dive
Playa del Carmen offers the perfect mix of vibrant reef life and unique underwater environments. During your training dives, you’ll explore shallow coral gardens and deeper reef systems teeming with parrotfish, angelfish, moray eels, and curious nurse sharks. Encounters with graceful sea turtles are common, and from November to April, you might even add a Bull Shark dive to your experience. Want to take it further? Ask us about upgrading your training to include the world-famous Cozumel drift dives or the mystical freshwater cenotes just inland—two of the region’s most iconic diving adventures.

Course Prerequisites
- Certified as PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
- Be 12 years old*
*12- to 14-year-old divers may earn Junior Advanced Open Water Diver certifications limited to 21m/70ft
